For those who are complaining that these are more difficult to use than the standard non-pass through style, you must be doing it wrong. For best results, you shouldn't need to cut and then pull back before terminating. It should be done in one motion with the correct tool

For those who are thinking about doing some custom cables and are new to making RJ45 jacks, these pass through connectors are a great way to learn and hone your skills. As long as you have the correct termination tool, these are noob friendly.. all you need to do is cut off way more cable than you need and slide them in one by one. Some of my solid copper 23awg cat6 cables don't like untwisting and end up binding a bit but these jacks make it a pinch by allowing you to do it one at a time. You may need to twist the jack a tiny bit to wiggle the wire in. I have a much easier time with stranded cable as those untwist easier and you don't have to waste as much.

If the cables don't want to untwist much, you'll have a hard time lining all 8 at the same time. If you do it one by one and then use some pliers to pull the slack, you make your life much easier.

Now you can make some really short custom cables, great for neat cable management if you have a rack.

I am a communications engineer. I have taught many junior technicians how to terminate Cat cable. A typical student will waste 10 connectors before getting it right using other cheap connectors. I got these and the tool to go with it and only one wasted because the tech put the connector on Upside down. I have used this on Cat5, Cat 6 and Cat 6A, perfect each time.
