This Ethernet Crimping tool has really come in handy since my husband has been running our Ethernet cables in our new home. It does a great job at separating, clamping, pressing, stripping and cutting and the blades are nice and sharp so they don’t end up over-stripping or damaging the wires.

It has a comfortable grip and fairly good ergonomics which are more than suitable for home use. It also comes with a punch tool and RJ45 plugs which makes it an even better deal. Overall, we are thrilled with this tool and would highly recommend it to someone who needs an at-home crimping tool and doesn’t want to spend a fortune.

I sacrificed one of my factory cable to try this kit out. The little yellow plastic stripping tool provided, I wouldn't recommend as It works for removing the shell but nicked one of the pairs with a single turn. Most quality cables come with a rip cord anyway so I don't see any advantage to carry an extra tool? These connectors are meant for cat6 as the pins are staggered, but they work perfectly fine with cat5 cable. On performance, upon first crimp, there was still some slack remaining that allowed the jacket to be pulled out from the assembly. I had to crank it a few more times to get it tight enough where it wouldn't budge anymore. Other than that, works perfectly as tested on Cat5e. For Cat 6, the tolerances might be a bit small so you wanna be sure your wires are straight before you try to feed them in.

Somewhat of a learning curve to use it the first few times, but works every time now, but not perfect, but was not expensive. Just buy cheap connectors to practice on first.
