Works better than the one I purchased from Lowe’s a few years back. The main feature I love is cutting off the excess from rj45 pass through. My last one didn’t have that feature.
This passthru RJ45 tool and connnectors are much easier to use as compared to non-passthru connectors and tools. On wires already fixed (ie. coming out of a wall) the stripper works but you need to spin the tool a full circle while keeping it shut, an operation thats not easy with one hand. Other than that the tool works great and easy to use.
Been making my own patch cables since 1995 and after accidentally melting the handle to my old crimpers decided to try these with pass through connectors. I was impressed to say the least. Easy and able to cri.p with little effort. Great product
In the past, whenever i needed to make some cat6 cables, I used the knife, some pliars, and an old style crimping tool. My success rate was around 50%, and it was really cumbersome.
With this one I can say it's probably close to 95%, specially now that the plastic ends are passthrough. And all I need are the plastic ends, the cable and this.
I will buy another one, just to make sure I always keep one handy and ready to go.
This cuts the excess pull through wires and saves time and headache.
