I find the labeling on the block somewhat difficult to understand. I am certain there is a method but I don't quite get it well enough to make my cable. I highly recommend that this site include that schematic in full-color for others. Can'tvbelieve I am alone. It would be easy to add a graphic that was clearer.

Are these for indoor use only or can I use them outdoors as well?

We also have waterproof rj45 connectors female to female designed for outdoor use.

Careful to trim the wires correctly when installing these. I had a short because I had left the wire too long. Luckily it's easy to disassemble and reuse, after trimming the wire correctly it worked really well.
How did I miss that these exist. I use them as temporary connectors before I get to the final cable length. I have to admit they also look pretty cool. It needs a bit of fiddling, but it's basically pressing everything together and then put the threaded ring on to keep the sides together.
Really, really like these connectors. First off they are quite well made and heavy duty. What even better is they are so much easier to use than the crimp style ends that are near impossible to push all the wires through the connector. These are SO much better. Easy to read color code makes wiring simple. Little pricey, but you get quality.

The VCELINK RJ45 Cat6A connectors have a really easy to use mechanism and guide that makes quick work of terminating CAT 5, 5e, 6 ends. Best of all they are reusable if I decide to shorten the run or use them elsewhere. I feel the shielding is far better than I was getting out of the one time plastic RJ45 clips.
